Compare Spacepal
Side-by-side comparisons with the apps people weigh against Spacepal. Each page says when the other app is the better choice, marks anything a competitor's site does not state, and dates when we checked.
Spacepal vs
- Spacepal vs macOS Mission Control: what Spacepal adds on top of the Spaces you already have, and what it cannot change.
- Spacepal vs DeskStag: a focused labeller for Mission Control against a full Spaces manager.
- Spacepal vs Hyperjump: two App Store apps for naming and jumping between Spaces, with different scopes.
- Spacepal vs SpaceJump: the closest overlap; previews and layouts against a type-to-jump switcher.
- Spacepal vs WhichSpace: a paid Spaces manager against a free, open-source menu bar indicator.
Alternatives
- Mission Control alternatives for Mac: apps grouped by what you want to fix, from names only to full workspace managers.
- TotalSpaces alternatives in 2026: what replaces TotalSpaces' grid and fast switching on current Macs.
Spacepal needs macOS 14 or later. Moving windows between Spaces works directly on macOS 14.0–14.4 and 26.4 and later; on other versions Spacepal falls back to dragging the front window, and restoring layouts cannot move windows between Spaces. Each comparison covers this where it matters. For setup and the full feature list, see the docs; Spacepal is a one-time purchase with a 14-day trial (pricing).
