How Mac power users use Spaces in 2026

Ten short questions, about two minutes. We will publish the results here, with the raw counts, once 100 people have answered.

1. How many desktops (Spaces) do you use on a normal day?
2. How many displays, including the built-in one?
3. How do you organize your desktops? (pick any)
4. How do you usually switch desktops? (pick any)
5. What bothers you most about Spaces? (pick up to three)
7. Which macOS version are you on?
8. What do you mostly do on your Mac?

Answers are anonymous. We store your answers and your country. Your IP address is not stored; a one-way hash of it is kept for a day to stop repeat submissions. If you leave an email, it is kept apart from the published data and used once, to send the results.

Methodology

We share this survey on r/macapps, Hacker News, X and the Raycast community, and link it from this site. Repeat submissions from the same connection are limited. When 100 or more responses are in, we publish every question with raw counts and percentages, the dates the survey ran and where people came from, on this page. The people who answer are Mac users who found a survey about Spaces, so the results describe them, not all Mac users. We make Spacepal, a Spaces tool; we will say so next to the results and will not drop questions whose answers we do not like.
